Under most circumstances, I'd feel a bit odd asking my travel partner to back up a kilometer down a single lane dirt road so I could take photos of some crazy looking mushrooms.
But the great part about traveling with a photographer is that he notices everything, and he gets it, so the conversation goes something like this...
"Did you see those mushrooms?"
"No, what mushrooms?"
"There was a red one with white spots."
"Seriously? Was it cool? Like, Alice in Wonderland cool?"
"Should we go back?"
"Nah, there will be more... won't there?"
And then he backed up, just like that and waited patiently, reading the light meter and giving me tips as I photographed mushrooms on the side of a tiny dirt road somewhere in Northern Denmark.
